THE WRAP DRESS IS PROTAGONIST Touch!, neoZone and cloudnine host a tribute to the “wrap dress”: a garment with a multi-faceted identity, worn for housework, a daily outfit for women in farming families, a cool dress for summer holidays and more recently, a cult piece in the collections of many fashion designers. The exhibition is curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and Elda Danese, published by Marsilio as part of the series MODE-Pitti Discovery Foundation.
ECO À PORTER: TECHNICAL-STYLE RESEARCH MEETS ECOLOGY Eco à Porter is a project that combines research into new materials with studies of new shapes and fashion styles. An exhibition organised by Ornella Bignami featuring knitwear collections in special yarns provided by the most important sophisticated Italian weaving mills in collaboration with some of the most cutting-edge fashion designers. To focus on the production of yarns that experiment unusual interaction between nature and technology: made from pure or recycled natural fibres, dyed using low environmental-impact dyestuffs and finishes, attentive to energy consumption and respect for the rights and artisan skills of local communities.
DEBORA VRIZZI WINS THE “PITTI IMMAGINE PHOTO AWARD”
CREATOR OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC CAMPAIGN FOR THE THREE SALONS Pitti Immagine has decided to involve the young ITS talents for the image of the three salons. Selected at the latest ITS#SEVEN in the photography section, Debora Vrizzi, a graduate at the Cinematographic Experimental Centre in Rome, won the “Pitti Immagine Photo Award” and created the campaign for this edition.

Last Thursday 19 June, London designer Carri Mundane took her Cassette Playa crew to Pitti Immagine for an exclusive live video jumpdance installation at Colleggio of the Poggio Imperiale, a beautiful location up in the hills overlooking Florence.
Carri Mundane and her 50-strong crew from London, Tokyo, Los Angeles and New York, took over the Colleggio’s gymnasium, with indoor and outdoor performances including Carrie’s new silk digital collage Utube Utopia Tees, projected on three huge screens located in the gardens of the Colleggio.
