THE FINALISTS OF THE SECOND EDITION
THE 4 FINALISTS FOR PRÊT-À-PORTER:
CAMO
Camouflage is a philosophy of life that has little to do with the famous military prints. The aim is not so much to cover people, but to make them communicate through what they wear. With his new Country collection, Stefano Ughetti explores the close bonds between the person and his roots, issuing an invitation to look to your own roots and follow your own nature.
DEAD MEAT
Giovanni Battista De Pol’s brand takes its name from “Naked Lunch” by William Burroughs. De Pol has made the t-shirt into an exceptional vehicle for his “critical thought” with references to urban graffiti and underground comics along with educated, profound citations – a look that can become a tool for study.
FQR
Initially applied to a limited edition of customized sneakers, the special finish created by Fabio Quaranta has now been extended to the leathers and fabrics in his menswear collection: an artistic project that FQR is developing in its creative laboratory in Rome. The result is a no frills, linear and metropolitan look.
MAURIZIO MIRI
Classic men’s dress wear in new versions to meet the needs of today’s man. Born into the trade in 1976, Maurizio Miri works to traditional tailoring guidelines to create a wardrobe with fine lines and stylish details that combine a clear avant-garde vision and a custom made look.
THE 4 NAMES FOR ACCESSORIES:
AI _
Lightweight, sturdiness and simplicity combine with the passion for shape and surface textures in Andrea Incontri’s designs. Here we have sartorially constructed, unlined leather bags with resin coating on the inside. He uses buffalo hides and stamped calfskin to create a new concept of “classic” inspired by the look of Italian leather goods from the 1950s.
OZONA
Strictly Made in Italy, one of a kind items, with a “sartorial spirit” combine classic, casual and vintage accents in the custom made eyewear designed by Sandro Gonella, who focuses on a definite look inspired by the great legacy of Italian styling and the feeling of the fabulous ‘Fifties.
PIERRE-LOUIS MASCIA
Original prints found in old European and Indian textile archives come back to life in the bags, shawls and scarves created by Pierre-Louis Mascia. The particularly soft, fine materials such as silk twill and crêpe de chine are treated with innovative techniques that bring huge savings in water and power resources.
YUJI MIURA
Based in Milan, Japanese designer Yuji Miura presents the minimal esthetics of his homeland seen through a sophisticated urban lens. Strictly Made in Italy men’s footwear becomes the meeting point for essential design and quality manufacturing: here is a collection that refreshes Italian leather-working traditions with unexpected touches of style.
